Chef in the wood is a website revamp project. Our client had an older website that was built using a page builder. It needed a total revamp to bring it up to date. Chef in the wood specialise in great home cooked food using quality ingredients for parties, events and festivals. For them it was important to create a website that showed off who they are, as well as what they do. The important thing here then was to find a theme that displayed multiple images well, while showing off their content. This website revamp also included several aspects of on page SEO. We optimised the images and gave them the correct naming conventions, as well as making sure that their content contained their main keywords.
The website revamp uncluttered their existing design, making it clean, simple and easy to read. We simplified the content and navigation so that users could find exactly what they were looking for. The website revamp also had a focus on responsiveness. It’s so important now to have a website that responds to mobiles and tablets, ensuring a consistent and easy user experience. Since an image says a thousand words, we made sure to select a theme that contained a great gallery function to really show off their food, branding and the special trailer.
By developing this website on WordPress we also setup the blog function so that they could blog about upcoming events and share news. This is an important part of content marketing, but also in letting customers know where you will be. Because it is built on WordPress our client is able to update all content at any time without the need of further development. This website revamp has helped our client to get more search engine exposure as well as greater website traffic.
