JLab

JLab is a bespoke website built on a theme we produced for LMarks. It is a one page design which is flexible, easy to manage and very professional. This custom theme uses Advanced Custom Fields so that the website sections are uniform but also easily editable. It also means that should greater changes or adaptions be needed we can easily integrate them. Many themes are packed with the baker visual editor. We’ve found that most people find this too confusing and hard to administrate. We believe that part of the process of creating a website is making something our client can administer themselves. This is the main reason for using a content management system like WordPress.

We built the JLab theme with fixed sections that can be turned off depending on whether they wish to make use of them. We’ve also used open source frameworks like bootstrap to make the website fast to load and highly responsive. We make use of Font Awesome for the icons, and subtle CSS3 animations to make the page more interactive. It also highlights where the client wants the user to click by making the buttons pulse. We integrated a blog and the ability to add further pages in case they decide to expand the website or add further content that is not applicable on the homepage. While this website doesn’t currently make use of the blog, it is easy to turn the function on if required in the future.

The JLab theme was built on Bootstrap so it shrinks, stacks and reorders depending on the screen that the website is being viewed on. Since most web traffic is now on mobiles and tablets we are dedicated to making sure that all users share the same experience. All animations and effects also work on mobile devices.
