Gorilla Grips is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of weightlifting training grips, made from durable saddle leather and providing real grip for those serious about their weight training. The team at Gorilla Grips UK came to Coderra seeking a fitness website revamp to bring their online presence right up-to-date, and we came up with a number of tweaks and changes which enhanced and improved their website to no end.
The first part of the project involved setting up the theme. Gorilla Grips was transitioning over from another theme, and we had to configure the new one to ensure that nothing would be lost in the crossover, and all information would be displayed properly within the layout. We also had to adapt the colour of the new theme to suit the Gorilla Grips logo. Having been founded in the US in 2001 before launching in the UK in 2013, Gorilla Grips already had an established logo and brand, and we had to ensure that the new theme worked with it. We adapted the colours to suit the green in the initial logo, and we also added in a dash of blue as a contrast colour, to really enhance the layout.
Navigation was a problem for the old site, and it was something the team at Gorilla Grips wanted the Coderra developers to work on. The results speak for themselves – navigation is now incredibly simple, with two menu bars across the top of the page which take users to any page of the site with just a single click.
The team also wished to implement a blog. We suggest that all businesses have blogs to boost SEO capabilities and also ensure that they can keep their users up-to-date with the latest happenings in their business. We created a stylish blog section for Gorilla Grips’ fitness website, which is easily updated using the straightforward CMS.
