Sandbach School is an all-boys academy in Cheshire. Its sister site – an adult learning website with a catalogue of diverse courses for all within the community – was seeking a revamp, and Coderra was the lucky firm to win the job. The clients at the school needed a total website overhaul to bring the Community Learning website up to date, as well as integrating an ecommerce solution so that visitors could pay for their adult learning courses up front.
Sandbach School already has a very consistent and successful brand, which we leveraged in the creation of the new sister website. Rather than try to replicate the exact look and feel of the Sandbach School website, we knew that the adult learning website had to have a look that was entirely its own.
With a simple layout, a cluster of primary colours and some fantastic images, we created a site that stands alone as a great example of an adult learning portal. The home page contains a brief introduction, a selection of course categories and the latest news from the school, making navigation simple and easy for users old and new.
The ecommerce aspect of the website was handled with Woocommerce, one of the best ecommerce solutions on the market, and we managed to import all of the existing courses with no trouble at all. This saved the client a lot of time, as it meant they didn’t need to manually input all of their courses from scratch when the new site was up and running.
The site is also fully responsive, which means it can be accessed using a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop device, and it will still be easy to navigate and great to look at. We used Bootstrap to accomplish this, ensuring that visitors on any platform or device will enjoy a consistent website experience.
